Diary of a Dragon.
WIVENHOE TOWN F.C. - originally formed in 1925 as Wivenhoe Rangers, The Dragons as they are known, are currently competing in the Premier Division of the Eastern Counties (Thurlow Nunn) League.
Having watched professional football since childhood, I first visited Wivenhoe's Broad Lane ground in season 1989-90. I turned my back on fantasy football and fell in love with 'proper football', an affair that still endures to this day.
This site covers the trials and tribulations of supporting an impoverished Non-League club through the eyes of a long standing fan ; a Sad Old Bastard or S.O.B. for short).
It is also a personal, somewhat self-indulgent, meander through my memories of following The Dragons.
The focus is predominantly on the supporters of the club. I've made many friends over the years on the terraces at Broad Lane - here's to all of you!
